Hi, I'm Andrea Anderson. I have a B.A. in Studio Art from Seattle Pacific University. I have shown my work in a select few places, and mostly just enjoy painting and drawing as a meditative practice, and as a way to process what is going on in the world and in my own heart. I primarily work in watercolor and pencil, although I have also enjoyed working with sumi ink and oil paint.

I have two small kids, so currently my painting practice involves a lot of daydreaming, punctuated by sporadic darting to and from my watercolor station. The fact that watercolor requires many quick-drying layers is an asset during this phase of my life. :)

Rainier Maria Rilke has been an artistic inspiration to me for many years. In the book Letters to a Young Poet, Rilke revealed that originality in art begins humbly, and begins with honesty. You have to tell your own story, not someone else's. That's what I strive to do with my art.
