six months ago

Six months ago, we had a baby. I realize that I haven't written about it at all, but I couldn't really figure out how. How do I describe the joy, the terror and the wonder of having a child? How do I write about becoming a parent? The experience is both common and profound.

All I can say is this: having a baby is a lot of work, but it's also amazing. It's probably equal parts hard work and complete amazement. As I'm falling into bed at the end of the day, I'm so blown away. We have a healthy, happy, inquisitive girl. She sees life with new eyes, and helps me do the same.
